Filthy Gods by R. Scarlett
Review by Amy W. There was something untouchable, something holy and unholy about the boys. Sacred and sinful all at once. Bastards of Grace. Fame, wealth and power poured out of them. They were the things of legends and myths. I have been dying, literally dying to get my hands on this book. I have never read any of R. Scarlett's books before but the synopsis for Filthy Gods drew me in. Then lord have mercy she released that cover!!! I am going straight to hell, do not pass go, do not collect $200, straight into the flames for the thoughts I had upon seeing that. I had high expectations for this prequel and every single one was met. I was the maid; he was the owner's son. I was a poor girl; he was a god. He wasn't mine. He would never be only mine. Juliette and Nathaniel. Two opposites in the world of corruption, run by money and power. The push and pull of these two was intense and immediately felt. Two headstrong adversaries that blow like land mines when they come in contact. The chemistry between the two is electrically charged and fueled by their debates. They are off the charts hot together. Gods fell in love with mortals and demolished them piece-by-piece. I love this beginning to the series, or what I am calling a teaser of the highest extreme. We meet the 'American Gods' but we don't get much on them. Just enough to tease our curiosity, and in my case have me searching for who's book is first. Gabe, James and Arsen have my attention. I think I am most excited for Arsen, because that name just does something to me and because he is such an enigma. I know the least about him, so of course I want to jump his Russian ass :) Filthy Gods sets up what is sure to be one hell of a series. Think: Skulls meets Cruel Intentions, had a baby and spoiled it rotten. It's going to be awesome!! **ARC provided by author for honest review**
