Alannah by L.A. Casey
Review by Stacey Alannah is another great book by LA Casey and a fantastic addition to the Slater Brothers series. I’d recommend starting the series from the beginning, so you can truly capture the unique personalities of each of her characters. Their possessiveness of what is theirs and their sense of humor will have you falling in love with each and everyone of them. They have a way of crawling into your heart and never leaving. As a reader I generally stay away from series because I either don’t have the time to continue reading each installment as they are released, or I’m too impatient waiting for the author to finish the next book. Yet, with LA Casey I have followed every one of her Slater Brothers and their significant others throughout the whole series. I won’t deny I wasn’t always patient when waiting for the next book to be released, but once it landed in my hot little hands I was extremely happy. The thing that draws me in with each of the books in the Slater Brothers series is the insight LA Casey gives us into each of her characters personalities and most importantly, their lives. Each story delivers just the right amount of angst, drama and love to keep you hanging on every word until the very end. When I started Alannah, I wondered how her story would unravel particularly with her character being the more sensitive one of all the girls in this series. I wanted to be able to feel the emotions Alannah was feeling, to see the world through her eyes and I wanted to live through her struggles along side her. The boy she loves is not part of what you’d call a normal family and his secrets from the past almost ended their happily ever after, before it began. That’s the thing about love and its ability to conquer all. It can take you out of your comfort zone and show you a world you’ve never experienced. Regardless of what is going on between Alannah and Damien, the one thing that shines through is their love for each other. There’s a connection between these two that LA Casey beautifully executes in her writing. It’s something that jumps off the pages and grabs your attention instantly. After reading Damien I had my own impression of what each of these two characters were like and what they wanted in their futures. In saying that, I was completely awed with the amazing twist in this installment that I didn’t see coming because it made me realize that maybe I didn’t know Alannah and Damien as well as I thought I did. This series is one I could re-read again and again with ease and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for something different and out of the ordinary. **ARC provided by author for honest review**
