Murder Girl by Lisa Renee Jones

Review by Amy Murder Girl was my first experience reading Lisa Renee Jones. This was the second book in the series. What was unexpectedly cool was the beginning of the book had a cliff’s notes version of the first book as well as a list and description of characters. If you have not read the first book, she makes sure you are going in prepared. Of course, you wonder how complicated a book can be when you need notes and a character list. This was definitely an in-depth book with a huge list of players and if I had it to do again, I think I would have enjoyed this book more after reading the first one in the series. The cliff’s notes was super helpful, but it was a bit like a speed date and I didn’t develop a connection to the characters like I probably would have had I read the whole book. I still felt a little lost as this book is truly the second half of a story she began in the first one. Moving on to Ms Lilah Love. She was one spunky go getter. Working for the FBI, she is trying to unravel a series of murders that seem to be connected by a tattoo. Such a simple concept, but this book was anything but simple. It was deeply plotted, with many twists, and sub-stories. This is not a relaxing beach read, but rather an intricately woven story that keeps your attention at all times because you have to be alert with so much going on. Have no fear, for there was romance afoot among the action, and there may or may not have even been a steamy bedroom scene, but you will have to read it to confirm those details. Overall, this was an action packed, enjoyable read. The complexity of the story telling reminded me a bit of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. If you enjoy elaborate story lines with plenty of turmoil and mystery, a snarky protagonist and a dangerous bad boy thrown in on the side, this book will definitely keep you entertained. **ARC provide by author for honest review**
