Church by Stylo Fantome
Review by Sue Church by Stylo Fantome is an amazingly dark and twisted love story between two broken and dark souls. “Please. Please, I need this. I need to be a part of something greater than myself.” -Emma Having a traumatizing past full of physical, emotional and sexual abuse, Emma, now wants and will do anything for, the one thing she has been denied her whole life- love. She deals with depression as well as her addictive personality daily. “I can’t want this. It’s just a look. Just a pair of eyes. Just a girl. Just legs to spread and a body to use and a mind to manipulate.” -Church Church Logan has abandonment issues as well as a brilliant mind. He is manipulative and has been diagnosed with an anti-social personality disorder. He barely speaks to anyone. What he is searching for is true devotion. Someone to worship him. Someone he can have power over. As Church and Emma meet and spend time together, Church realizes how perfect she is for him and his plans. Emma meanwhile is obsessed with gaining his love. His darkness calls to hers. Will they end up destroying and each other? Or, will they find in each other the salvation they’ve both been seeking? This is a darkly thrilling read that packs a punch. I was consumed, intrigued and obsessed. Absolutely nothing mattered while reading this book. This book just got better and better as the pages were turned. More angst and excitement and I was completely absorbed with Church and Emma. Church so dark, compelling and manipulative. So demanding. I love it and I love him. I am completely and utterly willing to be a devotee at his altar! Emma, so utterly broken. My heart broke for her while seeing her spiral into destructive ways. This book is told in dual POV and is only the first book in their story. Be forewarned that it does have triggers. This was also the first book I read by this author and I’m just blown away. I can see this author becoming one of my utmost favorites. This is a twisted, thrilling and decadent read like no other. I was completely riveted and cannot wait for the continuation of their story. **ARC provided for honest review**
