Surrender by Amy Daws
Review by Nancy A slow burn, consuming, steamy read. Amy Daws worked her magic once again! Surrender is a page turning must read! It is part one of the Final Harris Brother Duet, although it could be read on its own, I highly recommend you read the entire series in order. Gareth Harris is the oldest of the Harris brothers, he is also the most reclusive. Throughout the series we get a glimpse of who he is, just enough to keep us intrigued. Going into this I thought I had an idea of who Gareth was, boy was I wrong. This man is so complex and fascinating, the depth of his character baffled me. Gareth and Sloan were friends before anything else, or at least as friendly as they’d allowed themselves to be. From the very beginning we get a sense of longing, for various reasons Gareth and Sloan can’t be. When the opportunity for them to be together finally arises, they find both surrender and control within each other. When they are together there is no outside world, or problems. It is just Gareth surrendering to Sloan and Sloan finding the control she desperately seeks in her everyday life. They are magnetic together, absolutely perfect for each other. But it wouldn’t be an amazing duet if it ended with a HEA. Although I knew Surrender ended with a cliffhanger it still took me by surprise. It left me with a dropped jaw, waiting until we get the second part of this duet. Daws did what she does best, she gave us a beautiful heartfelt story. One that left me at the edge of my seat. It is definitely absorbing, her words always seem to captivate me. I knew I’d love Gareth, but I also loved being able to get a glimpse of the rest of the Harris family. I can not wait to see this book come full circle. Until then, my mind will be reeling. **ARC provided for honest review**
