The Protege by Brianna Hale
Review by Allyson A well written musical performance that is center stage worthy! Brianna Hale delivers a standing ovation, for The Protege! "Beautifully played my child." I commend Hale for branching out and delivering a romance that I for one have not experienced. She explored the poetic, romantic side in the wings of the orchestra life. The Protegetakes you on a mentoring journey/ relationship between Isabeau and Lorenzo. There is a older/younger taboo element but I loved this book so much that the older male aspect was non-important to me. Isabeau matures from the young girl to the beautiful, talented musician that Lorenzo blossomed her into. As time proceeds on though, feelings for both parties escalate and their relationship teeters. Can Lorenzo be the man for her despite the obstacles it will bring them in their careers and in their personal lives?! I have read Brianna Hale prior and I have enjoyed her earlier work. With The Protege, it seems that she did excellent research with this title, her characters as they were well developed and the story itself was addictive and held content. This isn't your typical Daddy/little novel, it held elements of D/s which was a massive bonus for me as well. "Good girl, Isabeau. All three. Daddy. Sir. Maestro. I rule you in all three parts of your life and don't you fucking forget it." Job well done Hale! **ARC provided for an honest review**
