Block Shot by Kennedy Ryan
Review by Allyson Win. Fight. Conquer. An EMPOWERING sports romance that was a refreshing take, shining a new light on athletes and sports management with a side of lust and second chances. Block Shot by Kennedy Ryan was sexy, heart pumping with all the feels in a enemies to lovers novel. "But the daughter of a lion is still a lion, and this is your domain." It's a dog eat dog world in the sports industry and Banner Morales knows just how ruthless it can be. It all dated back to her college years with her one night mistake with Jared Foster, in which she thought he saw her differently, but when dogs lie with dogs they all get fleas... 10 years onward she's known as 'The Killer with a Heart' with getting the best clients and Jared will do anything to win her heart back and he's not letting anything get in his way even though they are working for competing agencies. Can they hatch out their past and move forward? 100% angst lies within these pages that ping-pongs between two high strung individuals who are stubborn beyond words. I really loved how Kennedy Ryan had Banner, the heroine, as a curvy, headstrong, intelligent woman even with her self-flaws in a mans-work world. She dominated the court and I know while reading her character, she inspired me to become better and look within myself at a more positive light. I also agree with her belief in 'Words DO hurt over actions'. From the past to the present including Jared (who kept screwing up), she became determined to stay strong and knew whats right in her heart. "He's a shark, and he's been circling me all night. Any sign of weakness would be like blood in the water. He'd devour me whole." The banter and Banner's coldness towards Jared turned on the addictiveness in the novel. Then add in the surrendering demands in the bedroom that were amazingly HOT! A worthy book for sure. **ARC provided for an honest review**
