Waiting for Fitz by Spencer Hyde

Review by Lisa This book deals with real issues of mental health: schizophrenia, OCD, depression and more. There may be triggers for some. As a debut novel, Spencer Hyde put his heart and soul into this story. Telling this story from real life experiences is never an easy task. That being said, Waiting for Fitz had many more things going on than just your regular romance. Yes it is a YA read, the age of the teenagers, but what these two teens go through, overcome and how they learn to live just makes it "more". Fitz and Addie meet in a mental institution. After connecting with their shared love for words, they decided to take action into their own hands. They go on an adventure of self-discover where they learn to cope and find some romance. I enjoyed reading this story but I felt that there was a connection missing but that didn't stop me from finishing it. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
