The (Half) Truth by Leddy Harper
Review by Elizabeth In The Half Truth we meet Tatum who has been dumped by her boyfriend, on her birthday no less. We also meet Jason who can be considered a womanizer at least by his cousin’s standards. Tatum continues to work for her ex at his restaurant all the while watching him move on. So she comes up with this idea to “date” her best friend’s cousin, Jason, so that everyone can think she has moved on. You get the gist of it. When the book started it had my attention because Tatum is outspoken and funny. Then we meet Jason and he does very little to gain my attention. As the book progressed my attention started to wonder and the book is unable to recapture my attention. While the idea of The Half Truth is awesome, it fell a little flat. After a few chapters, Tatum really started to irk my nerves as did Jason. I did not feel the chemistry between them and it felt a little forced. Do not get me wrong, in the beginning, it was good and had my attention. However, once it got going I lost interest because the characters and the plot itself just didn’t catch me like it was supposed to. I will be reading more of Leddy Harper and I encourage you to read this book because my opinion is just that my own. You could very well enjoy it. **ARC received in exchange for an honest review**
