Review by Leah This is Erith and Cael’s time to shine. Erith is so strong, almost to the point of being bullheaded at times. The way she is written, you also see she is every woman meaning she is the protector, the provider, the nurturer, trying to control too much, yes I just admitted that. And she is not technically human, but that is beside the point. She is the Alpha Heroine. Heck, she is Death and the freaking Mistress of War but we get to see what is beneath that in this book. Add her abilities to being an overprotective female, look out Bran! Cael is the leader of one of the two Reaper groups. We already know he is as deadly as they come. Cael has been in love with Erith for years but due to Erith being their leader and also the one that made the rule “no one falling in love”, Cael has never acted on that emotion. Until now, hallelujah! Talk about the ultimate power couple. The battle between the Reapers and Bran, between dark and light, is full of twist and turns. It is full of spies and turncoats leaving you wondering who is on whose team? There is no predicting in this book. One minute you are rolling along and then out of nowhere you take a left or you get pissed off like I did for a bit. Ok, I am just gonna say it: I love you, Donna Grant! This book brings adventure, revenge, love, angst, suspense, heck even tears. I was pissed for a little bit but I should have known better. The magic that is in Donna Grant's head is just amazing! Just how she spins every story, blows my mind. If you ever see a book with her name on it, pick it up. *** ARC received in exchange for an honest review***
