The Risk (Briar U #2) by Elle Kennedy
Review by Lisa There is something about this book that makes you want swoon. The Risk, by Elle Kennedy, is about just that: The Risk. Is the risk worth it? Will the risk be worth it in the end or will taking a risk bring us down. Being the second story in the Briar U series, it’s time for Brianna’s story. When we left off in The Chase, Brianna may or may not have been "hanging" out with someone else. But the tides have turned and Jake Connelly is standing in the way. Jake is not only hot on the ice, but off it as well. Situations arise and toss these two into orbit with each hoping that their stars will align or blow up in their faces. Brianna is known as the "bad girl" and Jake is the golden player from her rival school’s hockey team. Eventually a deal is made between these two where for every fake date Jake wants a real one, and that could only mean trouble. The chemistry jumps off the pages and is so hot. The interactions between the characters makes it feel like your are right there with them. There is so much more to this story than the romance. Friendships, family, school, jobs and oh the drama to name a few. This story is so well done that I absolutely love it. WIthout giving anything away, there is a side story that I just love and had me laughing out loud as result of the situations and /conversations!! Well played and well matched. **ARC received in exchange for an honest review***
