Mine to Protect by Kennedy L. Mitchell
Review by Leah Ok, I am a sucker for the broken and hot men in uniform and this one has both. Mine to Protect by Kennedy L. Mitchell is the perfect balance of suspense, thriller and a dash of romance. This is one of the books that you will think you have figured out and then, in the end, you are shaking your head trying to figure out what happened and how in the world did you miss that. This is also about that one person, no matter what your past is, how broken you are, your soul knows this is the one. That is how it happens between FBI consultant Cas and Alta, a Rocky Mountain National Forest Park Ranger. Cas and Alta have plenty of demons they each fight daily, heck hourly in some cases. And when I say demons, it’s not some random break up or someone passed. It is DEMONS. “But you, you’re perfectly broken in every way.” “Where you have this light of hope and forgiveness deep in you, I have this dark, hollow hole.” Swoon! Then, there is also the suspense portion that just blew my mind. I normally can tell who the killer is but this time, it got me. The story line between the FBI, the Park Rangers and the list of suspects that you put in your head will have you questioning everything. Kennedy L. Mitchell nailed it writing all these characters and their crazy quirks. One suspect I knew was the one, there was just no way that person was not the one and, nope. I even started thinking that, oh these two will be the next book in this series, wrong again! LOL!. This is definitely a good read to curl up with and grab a cup of hot tea. ***ARC received in exchange for an honest review***
