Getting Hot with the Scot (Sometimes in Love, #1) by Melonie Johnson

Review by: Alysia Getting Hot with the Scot by Melonie Johnson was a great read! It is about Cassie who travels to Europe with her four friends. This is a trip that they have been planning for years! Each girl picked one country to visit. Cassie's only hope while on vacation is to get lucky with a complete stranger. While in a castle in Scotland, she runs into Logan quite literally. He is working with his sister to film his short video series. When Cassie doesn't sign the waiver to let them use the video he must secretly follow her on the rest of her trip to try and win her trust and to get her to sign it. His career is jokes and pranks while she is a serious journalist and knows what damage the prankster video could do to her career. Although this book is mostly lighthearted and not very emotional, there is still enough emotion that you feel for the characters. It also makes you feel like you know them personally, which is a must in my opinion! Getting Hot with the Scot was written in third person point of view the entire time. Sometimes I'd rather it be in a certain person's point of view, but Melonie Johnson did an awesome job. I liked how well it flowed from one character to the other. Oh! I also loved how well she inserted Scottish slang in the conversations that Logan had. Most words I was able to figure out with context clues from the sentences. Getting Hot with the Scot was the first book in Melanie Johnson's series Sometimes in Love. I hope that the next one will be about her friend Bonnie. I loved how much she had a part in this story but I hope she gets her happy ending as well and not with this Gabe guy! I've never had the chance to read Melonie Johnson before but I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I'm ready for the next one! ***ARC received in exchange for an honest review.***
