Wolfhunter River (Stillhouse Lake, #3) by Rachel Caine
Review by Leah I was excited and curious to hear that there was a third book in the Stillhouse Lake series. I wanted to know where this book would go. It took a bit to get started but once it did, there were so many plots I kind of got a little mixed up. There are so many twists and turns you start to get dizzy. Wolfhunter River by Rachel Caine took a different twist from the cyber-stalking from Absalom, Melvin’s fan club stalking and all the terror threats Gwen was getting. It does have a little bit of that, but the main focus was on Wolfhunter River. A town with a wicked history. One with a history so dark you would likely see on Criminal Minds. I like the way this book went but there were so many moving parts you need to make sure you are paying 110% attention to every page. There are pages where you will be second guessing if this person is friend or foe and which moving part do they belong to. I cannot imagine myself in Gwen’s position. I would probably move out of the country but Gwen Procter is a thousand times stronger than I would ever be. The way her son took it just melted my heart. Her children had to grow up so fast and they know things that a normal child should not have to but they are so resilient. I was a fan of Sam but had a stinking suspicion this book would open more of his history. It sure did. And of course, in walks Miranda Tidewell, mother to one of Melvin’s victims. She is out for revenge, any revenge she can get... All that is left is Gwen and her kids. That woman is off her rocker. I do like the spin-off at the end of the book. Quite curious if there will be more to come. It just felt like this book could actually be three almost four books in one. Each plot in the book felt rushed and I wish they were split up and dug into more. ***ARC received in exchange for an honest review***
