Reborn (The Red Ledger #1-3) by Meredith Wild
Review by Leah The Red Ledger series by Meredith Wild has been on my radar for a while now and the reader in me is glad I waited for this compilation of the books. There is so much going on you need to read them all together to get the whole picture. This is a story of a hitman that does not remember his past. He lives one job to the next until he is assigned to take out Isabel Foster. With no memory of his past, the last thing he believes would happen is the “hit” would call out his name in the middle of the street as he was doing recon. Isabel recognizing Tristan has thrown him for a loop. The writing in this book makes you really feel the push and pull within Tristan as he figures out what to do. Take out the mark or find out about his past and what really happened to him? Isabel is floundering at dating after losing the love of her life, Tristan. She compares every guy to him and then, she sees him on the street. I love that she fights for him and that her trust for him is unwavering, even when he does not trust himself. The ultimate puzzle in these books is: Who the heck put the hit out on her?? There are so many twists and turns. So many unknowns left in just these three parts. When you start to think: “Ok I know where this is going.” it turns again. I have definitely added the rest of this series to my TBR list. It reminded me a lot of Jason Bourne series which I LOVE. There is mystery, action, suspense and angst. I am hoping the rest of the series delves deeper into this organization that Tristan is working for. I'm wondering how many are out there like him. ***ARC received in exchange for an honest review***
