In the Crossfire (Circle of Justice, #4) by L.P. Dover
Review by Alysia All of the Circle of Justice books can be read as stand-alone books, but if you have read the others, you will recognize Bryce from the sneak peeks you get in Aim. I absolutely recommend reading the other books as well as this one! You won't regret it if you like a little suspense with your romance like I do. Bryce Chandler is under cover with the Circle of Justice on a case that no one else thought they were able to infiltrate: the Corsino Mafia family. He began using the alias Bryce Collman. He used the Collman last name because of the reputation the Collman family had with the mafia in the past. Bryce knew his mission, and nothing would stop him from achieving his goal of killing Anthony Corsino, the head of the Corsino family. That is, until Layla rocks his world on its axis. As much as he wants to fight his feelings for her, he ends up losing that battle, epically. When someone is trying to kill Layla, Bryce puts his mission on hold to ensure her safety. Layla is the daughter of a mob boss who keeps her in the dark to try and make her still believe he hung the moon for her. Yet as the chips begin to fall, the secrets start to come out. Daddy Dearest is no longer the wonderful man she believed him to be. I enjoyed the fourth installment of LP Dover's series Circle of Justice. Just like the others, In the Crossfires, did not disappoint with the action, suspense and the massive plot twist! The plot twist will have you questioning everything!! Once again LP Dover had me staying up until the wee hours of the morning just so I can find out what happens next. I am impatiently waiting for the next installment in the Circle of Justice series!
