Arizona Heat Books 1-4 Box Set: Western Romance by Katie Douglas

Review by Alysia The Arizona Heat box set by Katie Douglas is a wonderful series about four ranchers that live on the same ranch. Each love story is separate, but you hear about past characters in each book. Which is something I always enjoy. Book 1, Tie me Down Lawson finds Alana at a run-down gas station where she passes out from hunger or dehydration. She's on the run from an abusive ex-boyfriend and is trying to get as far away from him as she can. Lawson picks her up off the ground and helps her into the truck and then takes her back to the ranch. They find its hard for her to leave her happy place. Will the ex follow her and cause trouble for her newfound love? Will Lawson accept the pregnancy and the child as his own, or will she leave and raise the baby on her own? Book 2 Make me stay Barrett meets Harper when she accidentally gets her van stuck in his ditch and he tells her he won't pull her out until she joins him for food. She had interrupted his time to check cattle, so why not make her life hectic for a while as payback. As much as she likes spending time with Barrett, she is a traveler. She doesn't like spending time in one spot too long. He convinces her to hang around and help him fix up an old truck that is basically a yard ornament. No one drives it anymore and they never can find the time to fix it. After being there a few days, she gets scared and leaves while Barrett stands shocked in the driveway, watching her.. Something terrible happens and Barrett comes to save her. Will he be able to convince her to stay? Or will she leave first chance she gets. Book 3, Take Me Hard Clay finds Kinsley hitchhiking her way to Los Angeles. When she throws herself at his truck, she hurts her knee and he brings her back to the ranch to let it heal up. The two immediately have chemistry but because Clay is eleven years older than her, and she is barely legal, he tries to keep his distance. He is so attracted to her but fights his feelings because of her age. Kinsley is so attracted to Clay but doesn't want to kill her dreams of being an actress. When terrible news come from her hometown in Alabama, Clay brings her home and helps her deal with the crisis. On the way home, she decides to leave for Los Angeles and become the actress she has always wanted to be. Will Kinsley realize what she will be missing and stay with Clay? Or will she leave Lemon Tree Ranch behind and fulfill her long time dream of being an actress. Book 4, Leave Me Breathless Dylan and Jake have a past. They dated two years ago and when things got a little too heated for Dylan she called the cops on Jake. She dropped the charges, but their relationship was definitely over. Now, she is called back at Lemon Tree Ranch to pick up an old lame horse to bring to the sanctuary she helps with. But as soon as she steps on the ranch, all those old feelings come back. Jake and Dylan are somewhat able to discuss their feelings about that fateful night two years ago, but it doesn't go well. Dylan quickly picks up the horse. When she makes it back to the sanctuary she is super late and is alone dropping the horse off. While getting the horse out of the trailer she is attacked from behind. When the attacker leaves, she is only able to dial the one number she knows off the top of her head. you guessed it, Jake. When Jake finds her, his protective instincts show and he brings her back to the ranch were he can protect her until the assailant is caught. Will she leave after the assailant is in cuffs? Or will she run like she did before?

I have a weakness for cowboy love stories, I'm not sure if it’s because I live in Texas or what, but, dang, they are always so swoon-worthy. This small series was great to fulfill that for me! I hope that Katie Douglas will write more about Lemon Tree Ranch and what goes on there. The reason it is named Lemon Tree Ranch is also so cute and predictable. It made me smile when the reason came out. Way to go Katie Douglas!! You definitely have a new fan!! ***ARC received in exchange for an honest review.***
