The Kingmaker (All the King's Men Duet #1) by Kennedy Ryan
Review by Lisa WOWWOWWOW!! At first, I honestly and personally thought I was going to be a little turned off by the political "stuff", but let me tell you how wrong I was. What a story!! The King Maker by Kennedy Ryan is amazing and the ending had me wanting to scream!!! Ms. Ryan has gone above and beyond with this first book in this duet. From start to finish, we get the ups and downs of life. Of two lives that are connected by that invisible thread but keep each of them going in different directions. Kennedy Ryan has been awarded the RITA award and this story shows why she deserves it and then some. Power, emotions, connections, and controversy. Not to mention the love, hate, family, history, and politics. I can go on and on with what this story entails, but my words would not do this story justice. A must-read for everyone and I just can’t wait for the second part of the duet to be released. Lennix is an Yavapai-Apache/American Indian and has a life inside the tribe and outside the reservation. But life is not easy and things happen and life takes her on paths that she didn't know she would take. Maxim’s family is beyond wealthy from oil. But it's not the life he wants. Searching for his own space in the world takes him on a path that shows he’s powerful in his own right. Early on, when Lennix and Maxim’s paths cross, age plays a factor and life moves on. Each of them move in their own direction. When on holiday, Lennix can't believe the flame, that started years before, still burns bright when Maxim makes his way across the rooms her. From here we are taken on a journey of life, love, friendships, and so much more. ***ARC received in exchange for an honest review***
