Review by Alysia The Beauty and the Badge by Ella Fox is a small-town love story. It is also a quick, easy read that makes you feel good inside. Ella Fox did a wonderful job with all characters and their relationships, not just the main two. Ashley moves from LA to Charlotte's Cove, where she spent her summers as a child when she is a victim in a robbery. As soon as she moves in, she falls in love with the way of life there all over again. Her neighbor and a longtime family friend helps her get a job as the receptionist at the local police station. Tyler is the new police chief in town. He agrees to hire Ashley based on her resume and the recommendation from the old receptionist. Once she is hired and working out well, he realizes she is gorgeous. He doesn't want to act on his feelings because of their jobs, yet when he searches the rule book, there is no rule against it. Ashley begins working at the police station and is working out wonderfully. She handles the front desk and everyone that comes in easily, all while working on modernizing the computer system. She becomes one of the team very quickly and is invited to hang out with the team after the first shift. She is very excited about this because she has a crush on Tyler. But, she won't act on it because he is her boss. Rita is a conniving person, who was hateful and mean to Ashley in school. The town was very happy when Rita left town to follow her husband. Everyone isn't prepared nor are they wanting her to move back to be with her mom, yet she does after her husband passes away. While out at the local bar with the rest of the police force, Tyler runs into an ex-lover, Rita, who still wants him. She twists some lies and makes Ashley believe the ugly stories. Will Ashley realize the truth and trust Tyler? or will Rita win and get what she wants, Tyler? ***ARC received in exchange for an honest review.***
