Tall, Dark & Furious (Pyte/Sentinel, #6) by R.L. Mathewson

Review by Leah “Good. Then you’re mine,” Are you freaking kidding me??? Again, I feel like a broken record lately, where the heck have I been? I know this is book 6 of this series but I am so glad I jumped in right here. Trace holy mother of heck and then her brother, and then another twist and then and then… just layer after layer. I have read paranormal before. Several in fact but I have never read a paranormal that had so much depth, so much interweaving written in a way that just flowed off the pages. So many times I stopped to reread a section not because I was confused but because it totally blew my mind. Tall, Dark & Furious describes Trace to a T. Trace is a Pyte, I have never read about one before which I thought was pretty cool. We do get the backstory to Trace which I am so glad we did. It brought so much to his character and understanding of his relationship with his father. And I probably would have been lost a little more than I was at times since I jumped in with both feet right in the middle of a series. This is a very entertaining book. I don’t know how many times I was giggling with Trace’s mannerisms. His reactions to modern-day. Oh and the scene of “Where’s your man” oh you don’t have one well then I will claim you “Wife”. HA! I busted! Thank goodness my husband already knows I am insane. I read with headphones on with piano music playing so I can stay in the living room and read while he watches tv. So when I bust out laughing he just shakes his head. Every time he calls Samantha “Wife” you cannot help but giggle. That and that damn dog and Samantha. Dang traitor. The only thing I would say is I want more of Samantha and Trace. Once I got around ⅔’s of the way through I realized the need for the back and forth of scenes and technically it is my fault for jumping in at book 6. So my recommendation for you is to start at book 1. It is just to good not to read. I will be. **ARC provided for honest review**
