Benched (Playing Games #3) by Rebecca Barber

Benched is the third book in Rebecca Barber’s Playing Games series, but can be read as a standalone. This story is a friend with benefits, sports romance starring two characters that you can’t help but love. The witty banter between these two is incredible from start to finish. They certainly know how to get on each other’s nerves and push the other to their limits.
Hunter is the typical Aussie football player who is used to getting what he wants, so when Sienna resists his inner caveman comes out. This smoking hot leading man knows how to makes the ladies swoon, there were plenty of times where he bought out the charm to try and win her over.
Sienna is a headstrong heroine who isn’t interested in a relationship with Hunter. She resists the temptation and refuses to let Hunter take care of her thinking that AFL players are all the same and not in it for the long haul.
At times I was frustrated by just how headstrong she was and how she wouldn’t back down.
“Sienna was full of fire…She spoke her mind, didn’t give a toss what anyone thought, and she was always up for a good time.”
This book was filled with plenty of laughs, a whole lot of chemistry, and just the right amount of steamy scenes. This was well-paced and easy to read. As an Aussie myself I enjoyed seeing an AFL star in a book, it made me smile just reading how excited Hunter got about making it to the grand final.
