Breaking South(Turner Artist Rocker #3)by Alyson Santos

Breaking South is the third book in Alyson Santos’ Turner Artist Rocker series. This story blends popstar romance with sports romance and comes out with a gorgeous and heartfelt story. A chance meeting at a charity event brings Genevieve and Oliver together and from then on there seems to a pull between them which they find hard to ignore.
Genevieve is the beautifully broken popstar who is scared of the person in the mirror – the one behind the makeup and hairstylist. The stage persona is definitely not the real her, but the idea of meeting the person behind it all terrifies her. She feels like she is constantly living in the shadows, and when Oliver walks into her life she can finally see the light around her.
“When I’m around you…I don’t know. Everything isn’t gray anymore. I feel like I can breathe.”
Oliver is the rookie hockey player who has just had a killer start to his career, that is until he ruptured his ACL. He’s keen to be back in the game and pushes himself harder than he should at rehab. His family means the world to him, especially his younger sister who was the one to pull him through his dark days after the injury.
“My knee. Her soul. It’s the same battle, isn’t it? A fight for color beyond what we can see in the dark.”
Oliver is one of the sweetest and swooniest book boyfriend’s I have come across. I feel like everyone deserves their own version of Oliver in their lives. I loved this book from start to finish, it was different than a typical pop star or sports romance, I felt so much for Genevieve and at times all I wanted to do was to reach through the pages to give her a big hug.
