Famous by Association by Leddy Harper

Famous By Association is a standalone written by Leddy Harper. This story is full of laugh-out-loud moments with a little bit of a soap opera type feel to it, but all light-hearted drama. The story centers around Tasha and Jacoby and the crazy situation they find themselves in.

Tasha is a likable video game nerd working as an assistant manager in a video game store. Content with her quiet life she is taken completely by surprise when her identical twin sister, Tiff’s assistant appears on her doorstep with a proposition. While Tiff is stuck in Mexico she needs Tasha to impersonate her for an upcoming reality TV show.

“There isn’t enough incentive in the entire world to do her the tiniest favor, let alone something of this magnitude.”

Jacoby is Tiff’s next-door neighbor who didn’t have the most pleasant of meetings with Tiff. However, when Tasha arrives to stand in for Tiff the encounters he has with her have him thinking she is almost like a totally different person. After a tumultuous and public incident in the past, he wants nothing more than to keep a low profile.

Tasha and Jacoby bond over their love for video games and the attraction between the two is hard for them to ignore. Once Jacoby finds out the truth, he ends up becoming the only person Tasha can spend time with and feel like her true self. I found that while I really liked Tasha’s character, I was frustrated a few times when she struggled to maintain her sister’s personality.
