Playing with Fire by L.J. Shen
Review by Lisa
Playing with Fire by L. J. Shen has to be my favorite book by her. It is absolutely brilliantly written, the depth of these characters and the hard-hitting situations that you just don't read about yet, she nailed it on the head how people react and treat people had tears streaming down my face.
I don't know where you get your inspiration from and the intensity of your writing but keep it up because it's amazing.
This:
"A broken boy on the path to destruction.
A scarred girl without direction.
A love story carved in secrets, inked with pain, and sealed with a lie."
I don't want to give anything away so I will just tell you to read the synapses and jump it. Heck don't read the synapses and jump in anyway.
This story ticks off so many boxes:
✔College Romance
✔Angsty
✔Friends to lovers
✔Bad boy
✔Quiet Girl
✔Tears
✔Small Town
I can't stress enough the feels and the depth of these characters and how they come to be who they are. The situations surrounding them and life, in general, are so brilliantly portrayed you will not put this one down till it's over and you are left in a book hangover.
