Ruthless Prince (Dark Syndicate, #1)by Faith Summers, Khardine Gray

Ruthless Prince is my first read by Faith Summers and I have to say it was an okay read.

In Ruthless Prince we meet Massimo and Emelia. Massimo is taking over the family from his father and is seeking a wife, which is where Emelia comes in. However, nothing is as it seems.

Massimo is a ruthless person with his eyes set on revenge and he will do anything to have his revenge. Even if it means arranging a marriage with his worst enemy’s daughter. Emelia has lived a sheltered life and has no idea what she is in store for.

I was able to read Ruthless Prince but it took a lot for me to finish it. I was not able to connect with either of the characters and there was not a “hook” to grab me. Emelia seems to have had this sheltered life yet, in my opinion, seems to know more things than someone who was supposed to be that sheltered. Then there is Massimo who is just a man and makes it very hard to like him.

Overall, this is not the mafia read I was expecting based on the blurb. However, I will continue to read Ms. Summers because it takes more than one book to turn me off. Just because this really was not my jam does not mean you will not like it. Each person’s opinion is different.
